(For Example: 7:00am-3:30pm
or Every other weekend)
|M-Th: 12:30-9PM and Friday: 8-4:30|
& Major Responsibilities
|Is responsible for group/individual therapy to ensure the provision of individualized treatment and quality mental health and chemical dependency services with MI/CD adults.
Facilitates group therapy with patients.
Provides individual psychotherapy to patients.
Documents appropriate information in the patient’s medical record.
Assesses, identifies, and addresses the special needs of adult MI/CD patients when directly providing group/individual psychotherapy.
Demonstrates professional conduct.
Functions as a team member by keeping informed of all unit policies and procedures.
Participates in the development, revision and evaluation of policies and procedures.
Participates in professional development activities.
Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a related mental health field.
Two years hospital experience in psychiatric or chemical dependency setting, or two years mental health experience.
Experience working with MI/CD.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and regulations.
Knowledge of community resources.
Knowledge of psychiatric setting and terminology.
Knowledge of chemical abuse, assessment and treatment.
Knowledge of family systems and family therapy.
Ability to utilize strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Familiar with crisis management and successful completion of “Code Green” training.
Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of group dynamics in various settings.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
