Primary Function:
& Major Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing educational programs for all clinical hospice staff including home care, hospital inpatient, nursing home and The Pillars. Responsible for leading and actively participating in hospice quality improvement activities.

Assesses, plans, coordinates and implements continuing education programs for hospice /hospice home care to promote quality of patient care, compliance with industry and professional standards and regulations and to continuously improve job performance at all levels.

Coordinates and implements comprehensive orientation program for clinical staff of hospice home care and The Pillars and related organizations.

Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job to ensure appropriate maintenance of all privacy related issues.

Performs all other related duties as requested to meet departmental needs.
Qualifications: Education:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Minnesota, BSN or BA in Nursing preferred, or equivalent.

Three to five years clinical nursing experience with a minimum two years experience in hospice. Experience with education and/or quality management and/or facilitation of groups. Experience in hospice education and/or quality management.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Demonstrates ability to facilitate groups;
Instructional skills and knowledge in adult learning theory, educational technology and methodology;
Knowledge of quality improvement principles;
Demonstrates ability to develop and implement educational programs.
