Clinics - RI (Physicians) - HealthEast Clinics are the East Metro’s premier primary care network. The medical staff includes more than 170 physicians as well as numerous certified nurse midwives. Our adult, pediatric and geriatric nurse practitioners round out a compassionate and experienced team of nurses and other support staff. Our clinics span the St. Paul area with 14 different sites and focus on providing prompt, personalized patient care with same day access for acute services. Our network size and diversity allows us to offer a full range of services for patients of all ages, including family practice, pediatrics and internal medicine.

Primary Function & Major Responsibilities Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages, for acute injuries, infections, illnesses and counsels patients and families about acute and chronic conditions or concerns. Formulates differential diagnostic plans. Prescribes and administers medications, therapies, suturing and splinting. Orders lab and imaging tests to determine issues and manages an immediate treatment plan and provides advise on follow up. Refers appropriate tertiary care to specialists or to the Emergency Department. Refers routine health care visits, check-ups and immunizations to the patients primary care physician. Collaborates with the Clinic team at respective sites and facilities to provide a high quality, high satisfaction patient experience. Physically present at designated clinic(s) and/or hospital(s) to see, diagnose, and treat patients per schedule established by the Site Medical Director or designee. Examines patients, formulates differential diagnostic plans, defines and orders required diagnostic testing. Treats children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns. Operates on patients to remove, repair, or improve functioning of diseased or injured body parts and systems. Interprets examination findings and test results, and implements treatment plans. Collects, records, and maintains patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results. Provides timely, accurate, and complete documentation of medical services in the medical record, both in clinic and in the hospital. Complies in all respects with the medical bylaws and rules and regulations of all hospital, clinics, and other health care providers at or with which the physician has or maintains membership or clinical privileges, including the acceptance of medical staff committee assignments and consultation requests. Advises patients, parents or guardians and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. Explains procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians. Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in patients. Attends and participates in special meetings as called for by the HMRI leadership, the site “clinic” manager, or the Site Medical Director. Attends Continuing Medical Education (CME) meetings to provide credit hours adequate to maintain state license and specialty society membership. All Continuing Medical Education meetings or conferences for which HealthEast (HMRI) will have a financial obligation must be approved by the Site Medical Director (content) and the site Clinic Manager (time absent from work to insure adequate number of providers). Participates in orientation program designed to provide information regarding coding, billing, and documentation procedures used by the corporation, including compliance with all appropriate laws, rules, and regulations. Understands and supports technology needs of clinic in association with corporate information technology department. Complies with standards and requirements of all accrediting, licensing and governmental agencies pertaining to the area of operational responsibility. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education Level: Medical Degree Education Description: Residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Pediatrics. Minnesota Physician License- Board of medical Practice. Credentials: Physician: Board Certification (ABMS), Physician: Board Certification (AOA), Physician: M.D. Doctor of Allopathic Medicine
Experience:
1 to 3 years experience required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Patient education - Provides patient educational information appropriate to patients developmental level, learning needs and readiness, cultural values and beliefs; Evaluates - Evaluates progress towards attainment of goals or outcomes; Patient safety - Integrates practices that support safety, acknowledges variations in the population served, and prevents harm to patients, families, other employees or themselves; Safe medication admin - Administers medications following policies & using procedures that assure the highest level of safety all times for all populations; Treatment planning - Identify expected outcomes and develops individualized treatment plan of care; Assessment - Collects and analyses data pertinent to patients health or situation; Care delivery - Implements and coordinates care following identified plan; Care planning - Identify expected outcomes and develops individualized plan of care; Professional practice - Demonstrates behavior consistent with the standards, qualities and characteristics of a professionally licensed employee. This includes but is not limited to the current Scope and Standards of Practice, Policy Statement and Code of Ethics Patient advocacy - Gathers information that reflects the patient's perspective; advocates and brings resolution to customer concerns; effective in mediating with third party payers on behalf of the patient.
