<br><br><b>Primary Function</b> 
& Major Responsibilities  The RN Clinical Educator will coordinate education activities and functions of HealthEast Home Care, acts as a resource and consultant to HealthEast continuum of care in the development of staff through the competency based orientation and education (CBO/E) process and clinical affiliation programs. To collaborate with Directors and Clinical Managers to plan and implement strategies that assure staff have tools to address patient/family teaching needs. Provides orientation and ongoing staff development for all professional and paraprofessional staff.

Provides or coordinates ongoing education and best practices as needed to HealthEast Home Care staff to ensure basic clinical competencies.

Provide and coordinate education to the clinician in the coordination of patients care to provide effective and appropriate home care services.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate competency based orientation and education programs for HealthEast Home Care.

Perform appropriate clinical activities to ensure basic clinical competencies.

Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job to ensure appropriate maintenance of all privacy related issues.

Performs all other related duties as requested to meet departmental needs.
<br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br>  Education:<br>
Current unrestricted RN Licensure in the State of Minnesota. Current CPR certification. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors degree in Nursing, Education or related healthcare field required.

<br><br>Experience:<br>
Three years recent experience in healthcare setting, home care experience preferred. Two years in planning and implementing educational programs. Experience as preceptor/clinical educator

Knowledge of home health regulatory environment; Federal Conditions of Participation and Minnesota Home Health Licensure regulations;

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient?s status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient?s needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department?s policies and procedures in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Care and Practices as defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act;
Competent in using Microsoft Office and Outlook- primarily Work and PowerPoint;
Basic use and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment.
Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and other reimbursement sources for homecare;
Experience in Outcome Assessment Information Set (OASIS), orientation and education and Outcome Based Quality Improvement (OBQI).

<br><br><b>Department Overview:</b><br>  OBSTETRICS Pre-term labor, labor and delivery and post partum care for mother/ baby at 34 weeks or greater in a family centered LDRP unit. Includes GYN surgical patients. 15 bed unit with average of 2-3 deliverys per day. Offer water birth option. Level II Nursery with 24/7 NNP coverage.
