Primary Function & Major Responsibilities Responsible for coaching wellness clients and developing wellness plans. The Wellness Coach uses critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, theories, best available research finds, current accepted dietetics, fitness, and medical knowledge, and the systematic holistic approach of the nutrition care process as they relate to the standards of practice in nutrition care for the Wellness Coach. The Wellness Coach will provide a competent level of behavior in the professional role, including activities related to provision of services; application of research; communication and application of knowledge; utilization and management of resources; quality in practice; continued competence and professional accountability, in accordance with the standards of professional performance for dietetics and fitness professionals. Responsible for coaching wellness clients and developing wellness plans. Practices infection control policies, including Universal Precautions. Demonstrates knowledge of safety practices, fire and disaster policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition, Dietetics or appropriate related field. Completion of ADA approved program for registration. Must be a Registered Dietitian through Commission on Dietetic Registration. Must be certified personal trainer through an approved organization (American Council on Exercise, American College of Sports Medicine). Desired additional credentials include certifications in weight management and board certification in sports medicine. Additional training in counseling, life or health coaching desired.

Experience:
Must have a minimum of two years experience and experience in outpatient setting preferably in the areas of wellness and weight management. Special Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities:
Current and working knowledge of nutrition and fitness in disease in the outpatient setting; Ability to assess client needs and formulate comprehensive wellness plan including nutritional needs, fitness plan, and lifestyle management; Ability to modify wellness plan according to disease state and/or physical limitations; Excellent counseling skills; Ability to motivate clients to achieve their goals; Specific skills in the area of fitness to develop specialized plans to achieve clients goals; Strong to desire to learn and keep current with fitness skills and nutrition; Good verbal and written communication skills to assess and educate patients; to work with physicians, ancillary services and wellness staff; Ability to work independently with good time management skills; Ability to organize and prioritize work; Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to clients of all age groups ( pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients); Must be able to be an effective public speaker. Primary Function & Major Responsibilities Assists physician as a scrub assistant for cesarean births. Cleans, stocks, and maintains labor and delivery and operating room area. Assists with clerical tasks, patient care, and patient transport and requested. Assists physician as a scrub assistant during surgical procedures efficiently and safely. Recognizes and maintains surgical instruments/equipment to ensure proper use and availability during surgical cases. Performs surgical counts on all surgical procedures to ensure patient safety. Maintains the physical environment of labor and delivery and the operating room area so that areas are always immediately ready. Performs delegated patient care and clerical activities to assist nursing staff and promote teamwork. Communicates effectively with physicians, coworkers, patients, and families regarding plan of care, requests, needs, and general information. Participates in activities that contribute to improved clinical competence, personal satisfaction, and professional growth. Utilizes resources according to departmental guidelines, policies, procedures to ensure cost containment and effectiveness. Assists with the orientation of new staff to ensure their understanding of job duties and unit guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited O.R. Technician program or prior training as a scrub assistant for cesarean births. Certification by National Board for Operating Room Technicians recommended.

Experience:
One year of operating room experience in surgery or labor and delivery setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of surgical asepsis and sterile technique. Ability to bend, reach, or assist to transfer up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and/or walk 80%-90% of an 8-hour shift. Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related function adequately. Ability to work independently. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients in neonatal, adolescent, and adult age groups. Regular/Temporary
